Adele Lebowitz Center for Youth & Families — provides counseling and other services for children of all ages, parents and families in many different settings. As a part of the Washington School of Psychiatry, they have a full staff to deal with a variety of issues. DC Action for Children — an independent, non-profit multi-issue advocacy organization dedicated to improving conditions for children and youth in the District of Columbia. Mental Health Association of Maryland — fulfilling goals of founder Clifford Beers spreading tolerance and awareness, improving mental health services, preventing mental illness, and promoting mental health. Mental Health Association of Virginia — a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization affiliated with the National Mental Health Association with a mission to promote mental health, develop services to prevent mental illness and assure the proper care and treatment of mentally ill children and adults. National Center on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder — an educational source about PTSD and trauma for interested audiences, including veterans, survivors of traumatic experiences, clinicians, researchers, journalists, family members of individuals with PTSD and students. National Mental Health Association — a national Association dedicated to improving the mental health of all individuals and achieving victory over mental illness. National Institute of Mental Health — an Agency of the U.S. Government devoted to diminishing the burden of mental illness through research. William Wendt Center for Loss and Healing — a non-sectarian, non-profit organization founded in 1975 as a source of guidance, information, and support for people living with illness, loss, and bereavement. The Center counsels and supports adults, children and families; provides guidance, training and support to schools, workplaces, and religious institutions; and helps the community respond compassionately to those affected by loss and illness.
